The local community will have the opportunity to attend informative health talks and receive discounted health screenings from National University of Health Sciences’ natural medicine experts during the Whole Health Center’s Harvest Your Health Community Appreciation Week, Monday, October 24 to Friday, October 28.

“The inaugural event in July was a great success and will serve as a springboard to our upcoming event,” said Sonia V. Joubert, DC, ND, MSc, CKTP, Attending Clinician at the NUHS Whole Health Center. “This event will be the first multidisciplinary community outreach to include all disciplines in the Lombard clinic.”

NUHS interns and clinicians within chiropractic medicine, naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and oriental medicine will all be on hand to provide valuable insight into a patient’s individual health through various screenings.

For $15, patients will be able to receive Body Mass Index calculation, blood pressure screen, oxygenation rate, postural analysis with foot scan, EKG screen, a non-fasting glucose and cholesterol screen along with a Chinese health diagnosis involving pulse and tongue checks.

Suitable for all ages, the screenings are preventative healthcare measures that are in line with NUHS’s goal to increase community health awareness and prevention.

“I have worked in multidisciplinary clinics and seen firsthand the health benefits integrative care offers the patients and community. The health fair provides many health services and is a great means for introducing the community to the clinic,” Dr. Joubert said. “It also offers intern training in ethical health care and promotes the benefit of integrative health care. It is my hope to increase patient care and offer the interns a memorable clinic experience.”

In addition to the health screenings, patients will also have a chance to learn about the various health services and supplements offered at the clinic. Additionally, short tours of the clinic will be available for those participating in the event.

In the future, the NUHS Whole Health Center in Lombard hopes to offer Community Appreciation Week three times a year; every spring, summer and fall.

Call 630-629-9664 to RSVP as space is limited. For further inquiries, email Sonia Joubert, DC, ND, MS, CKTP, at [email protected].
