NUHS faculty Kathryn Rioch, was recently featured in a U.S. News and World Report article, 15 Medical School Application Mistakes to Avoid.  

Dr. Rioch, chair of the College of Allied Health Sciences and Distance Education and director of the Master of Science in Medical Science Program, discusses the importance of considering postbaccalaureate programs to help students improve their understanding of chemistry or physics, or to simply boost their MCAT score.  

“Because such programs tend to be costly and time-consuming, it’s important to gauge whether it would be personally worthwhile and to find the right fit,” Dr. Rioch said in the article. 

NUHS currently offers a one-year master’s program to help prepare students for medical school and other professional health care programs like chiropractic medicine, naturopathic medicine, pharmacy, optometry, and physician’s assistant, or for a career in public health or clinical research.
