The Importance of Marketing in the Chiropractic Profession

All of the classes that we take at NUHS have an important role in our future careers. This trimester, I am taking a class entitled “Principles of Marketing & Communication,” and the importance of this class feels more relevant every week of the trimester.

Adjustment

We began the class by discussing mission statements, and how many businesses create mission statements that are ineffective, boring, and forgettable. It is important to create a concise and impactful mission statement, that includes employees, so that everyone is invested in the mission of the specific business, and can be held to the standards of the statement.

We have also been learning about the importance of thinking about your target audience, depending on the location in which you will practice. For example, if your practice is focusing on women’s health and pregnancy, it is important to keep in mind that most women believe that service is key, and forming a relationship with their physician/staff is important. The generational differences between the many different classifications will also directly impact your marketing strategies for your chiropractic office. It is easy to keep your head down and “power through” every trimester, but it is so important to remember that these classes will be important to all of us as we create our future businesses.
