Computers
Computers are located along the southeast or rear wall of
the LRC.
Electronic Journals
A-to-Z manages our electronic journals providing users
with a single, comprehensive online list of over 15,000 journals
and eBooks. You can browse an alphabetical list or search by
keyword. Browse Electronic Journals »
Group Study Rooms
You can reserve group study rooms for groups of three or more at
the Circulation Desk. One or two people can use a room, but groups
with reservations have priority (i.e. you can be bumped out of a
room).
Holding LRC Material
Can't find one of our books, journals or AV programs? Fill out a
hold request form and the LRC staff will locate the material and
notify you when it is available. (Also available at
the Circulation Desk.)
Interlibrary Loans
If you require a journal article or book that is not
available here, you can request it by filling out
an Interlibrary Loan Request Form. (Also available at the
Circulation Desk.)
Journals
The Journals
Holdings List identifies all the print journals
held by the LRC and their locations. Copies of the list are
available on the index tables, at the reference computers, and at
the circulation desk. If the LRC does not have the journal article
or book that you need, ask LRC staff for assistance. Interlibrary
loan service (borrowing from other libraries) is available, as well
as directions to nearby libraries that have the material that you
need.
Microfilm
The microfilm reader/printer is located west of the
photocopiers. The LRC keeps some older journals on microfilm. The
microfilm is stored in the beige cabinets between the
reader/printer and photocopiers.
Photocopiers
Photocopiers are to the right as you enter the LRC. The copiers
use your student ID or separate copy cards which are available from
a machine in the photocopier area. You are responsible for
observing federal copyright law. Please help maintain the copiers
in good condition by keeping staples away from the copiers and by
closing the lids gently.
Radiological Learning Laboratory (Room
115)
The Radiological Learning Laboratory is available for viewing
X-rays. Group study rooms also have X-ray view boxes. Ask for X-ray
packets at the Circulation Desk.
Recommendations
Do you know a good book or AV program that the LRC doesn't own?
Recommend it for purchase by filling out a Recommendation Form. We
will try to purchase it if funds are available. (Also available at
the Circulation Desk.)
Reference Services
The LRC faculty and staff can help you use the LRC. Contact the
reference librarian or the student reference assistant if you wish
to schedule in-depth instruction for yourself or a group (e.g. how
to search a database, how to search the catalog).
Other Services
Reserve materials including anatomical models, board reviews, and
the Academic Bulletin are available at the Circulation Desk.
Loan periods, renewals and fines are based on recommendations from students to promote equal access.
