If you would like to start a graduate or professional degree program, but don't have the necessary science prerequisites, you may complete that coursework in National University's Prerequisite Program. (Note: This program is only offered on our Lombard campus.)
Courses are offered in two accelerated 8-week sessions or a traditional 15-week session. This allows you to take the classes at the pace that best suits your learning style and your educational goals.
Classes are scheduled on weekday evenings with laboratories on Saturdays. Each class allows you to earn a full three or four semester hours of credit, depending on its required laboratory component.
The Prerequisite Program allows you to get to know National University professors, and become familiar with the campus. This puts you at an advantage when you begin your advanced degree. We also welcome students who wish to fulfill requirements for programs at other schools.
Students enrolled in the Prerequisite Program are eligible for on-campus student housing. Additionally, they are eligible to receive financial aid if certain qualifications are met.
Unfortunately, due to visa restrictions, international students are not eligible for the Prerequisite Program and cannot be admitted.
