NUHS ND Business Program

NUHS students graduate with the confidence and real-world skills they need to succeed in in today’s health care marketplace.

In addition to being exceptional practitioners, successful naturopathic physicians must also possess superior business skills. National University’s ND business curriculum offers students a well-rounded education in everything that goes into running a business, from learning how to advertise, lease a building, manage employees and use accounting software.

Superior Practitioner + Savvy Business Owner = Successful Naturopathic Physician

National University’s business curriculum ensures that students graduate with a set of business skills to succeed in today’s health care marketplace. Instead of just learning the basics of how to run a business, NUHS students learn the nuanced aspects of how to start, manage and grow a practice.

The courses have been specifically sequenced to build off each other and provide a well-rounded education into the many small details that goes into running a business, including:

  • HOW TO GET A LOAN
  • ADVERTISING MODELS
  • CHOOSING THE RIGHT LOCATION
  • LEASING OFFICE SPACE
  • HIRING AND MANAGING EMPLOYEES
  • PROPER BILLING PRACTICES
  • BASIC ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES
  • USING ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE AND INTERPRETATION OF REPORTS

Business Skills When You Graduate

Unlike naturopathic physicians of the past who might have had to learn how to run a business on their own, NUHS students will have a comprehensive set of business skills the moment they graduate.

While many new NDs join existing practices as associates in order to learn how to properly run a business, NUHS grads will be prepared to open their practices right away and fast track their careers to a higher level of income!
